| The Cor Anglais and Oboe D’amore Crook is a vital part of the instrument. It can affect the pitch, relative intonation within the scale, response throughout the range, as well as projection and sound quality. In recent years, Howarth has undertaken extensive research and believes that the crooks we now offer can improve most instruments. Choosing the ideal crook is a very personal decision, dependent of the player’s embouchure, style of reeds and instrument. Our cor anglais and oboe d'amore crooks are available in four lengths (0-1-2-3) and are made from brass which is generously silver-plated, or gold-plated. Solid Silver crooks are available as special order.
